We are finally down to our very last video from our Valentine’s event, “For the Love of Animals.” We saved everyone’s favorite BLT for last. Leo rolled around with his new piñata and cardboard tube. Shere Khan batted a few different things around in true cat style. Then finally after waiting patiently for a few minutes, our event guests were able to see Baloo leisurely stroll down to join the party, and shred/squash some of the new toys. There were even quite a few head bumps exchanged between these 3 brothers while they were standing right in front of our event guests, which made an amazing and perfect ending for our Valentine’s event! Los 3 fueron rescatados de un sótano, en la casa de un vendedor de droga de Atlanta, Georgia, en el año 2001.
Cuando las autoridades los encontraron, estaban desnutridos y presentaban signos de violencia como cortes y heridas, además de estar severamente traumatizados.
El león fue encontrado en una pequeña jaula sin poder moverse y con una cortada en la nariz, el oso estaba atado a un arnés tan ajustado que se había insertado a su piel y el león estaba desnutrido y sin fuerza.

Baloo the American black bear, Leo the African lion, and Shere Khan the Bengal tiger; known as "The BLT" came to Noah's Ark in 2001 after they were discovered by police officers in a basement of an Atlanta home during a drug raid. At only a few months old, all three cubs were frightened, malnourished, and infected with internal and external parasites when the Georgia Department of Natural Resources brought them to Noah’s Ark.Baloo, Leo and Shere Khan eat, sleep, and play together and even seek out grooming and affection from one another, head rubbing and licking each another. El trío había formado un lazo muy fuerte desde su oscura vivencia en el lugar, por ello fueron trasladados juntos al santuario "Noah's Ark" (Arca de Noé) que asila animales silvestres que han vivido experiencias similares.
Lo que ha sorprendido a los voluntarios del lugar, es su amistad de 15 años, ya que, Allison Hedgecoth, directora del recinto afirma que los animales se van separando a medida que envejecen.
We've mentioned before that the BLT have a remarkable bond. They play together, sleep together, and eat together. Here's a clip of all 3 at feeding time. Estos animales no pudieron ser reinsertados a su hábitat ya que estaban demasiado lastimados y no podían valerse por si mismos, pero la buena noticia es que ahora viven felices, en un espacio lleno de paz y diversión, juntos hasta el resto de sus días.
Todo aquel que quiera visitarlos puede hacerlo, incluso puede hacer donaciones para ellos y a los mil 500 animales de 100 especies que ahí habitan.
